Teaching and mentoring
Three years teaching AI and machine learning at UTS, and ongoing mentoring, judging and speaking.
Course content
I designed, developed and delivered undergraduate and postgraduate coursework in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning and programming. I developed and upgraded the core content for Deep Learning and Convolutional Neural Networks, and for Reinforcement Learning, at both levels.
Tutoring and assessment
I tutored and assessed Machine Learning (31005), Advanced Data Analytics Algorithms (32513), Deep Learning and Convolutional Neural Networks (42028), Reinforcement Learning (43008), Applications Programming in Java and Python (48024) and Database Fundamentals (31271). I also marked and assessed coursework across undergraduate, postgraduate and industry certification programs.
Industry training
I delivered and assessed professional and corporate courses, including the Machine Learning Foundations and Applied Machine Learning micro-credentials.
Community
Event lead for the UTS AI Showcase in 2023 and on the organising committee in 2024. I judge student projects, speak on panels and guest lectures, and mentor people starting out. I completed the UTS Tutoring in Higher Education course in 2022. I led student technology communities through the UTS Data Science Society and the Google Developer Student Club, and served as an international student ambassador and a FEIT Orientation Buddy.
